Hyderabad, May 9: Police are investigating the death of Tanuja Ranjan, wife of retired IPS officer Binay Ranjan, who was found dead at her residence in Hyderabad’s Jubilee Hills area.
According to police officials, the incident came to light after neighbours reportedly grew concerned when repeated attempts to contact the family went unanswered. Authorities were informed, following which police teams entered the residence and found the woman dead under suspicious circumstances.
Preliminary observations at the scene reportedly indicated signs of disturbance inside the house. Police are also examining whether valuables or jewellery may have been taken, and officials are investigating a possible robbery angle.
Investigators stated that CCTV footage from surrounding areas, residential entry points and nearby establishments is being examined as part of the inquiry. Police are also questioning individuals connected to the household, including domestic staff.
Officials said one domestic worker associated with the residence is currently being traced, though no conclusions have been reached regarding involvement. Authorities are also examining whether any broader criminal links exist, but stressed that the investigation remains ongoing.
Senior police officials visited the scene and special teams have been formed to gather evidence and identify possible suspects.
